I still can't decide for myself whether the 12% increase in speed fan is worth the 3C difference though. I used the in-game benchmark mode to get those temperatures. 57C max : 56% 2490 RPM on Manual settings and 60C max : 44% 1950 RPM. Just finished with Sleeping dogs with everything maxed out. I will only run it at 60% MAX until 70C because I don't want my card to shorten my card lifespan and I haven't hit 70C yet on every game that I've played on Auto settings. Yeah, I understand that but like I said, I am just playing around with it to see if a manual setting is better than auto.
For example, your ambient temp, how many fans, how much airflow you have, dust buildup. For optimal settings, a lot of testing needs to be done and a lot of factors need to be calculated and tested. You know, the programmers and engineers put a lot of time to run those GPUs on their optimal settings, right? So there. But if I were you, I'd just set it to Auto. Now I am a total noob at this, I hope my GPU is not faulty or anything, I need to know what is going on and what can be done to fix it, any help will do.Yea that would be fine running it at manual. This is what happens when it starts, just random peaks of 3400 RPM during anytime the temp his around 70cīut sometimes it gets a bit carried away and does it consistently, as you can see it doesnt match the fan curve or what MSI Afterburner is reporting for fan speed, it also appears to be only on GPU fan 1 and fan 2 seems to follow the fan curve. Turns out the GPU is completely ignoring the settings and doing the revving still, MSI Afterburner shows the fan speeds match what I set at the time the revving happens yet these speeds only turn up around 2100 RPM not the 3400 RPM I am getting which makes me wonder why the GPU is ignoring what I set and how I can fix this because its really annoying having to play when the PC is doing this. Hey guys, not sure whats going on here, I've had this issue for a while but recently tried to rectify it by installing MSI afterburner and setting a custom fan curve to stop this random revving to 3400 RPM on my GPU fans whenever the temps reach 70c.
